Product Description

For only $89 per annual subscription, students with low vision can enlarge and enhance everything on their computer screen. ZoomText also echoes your typing and essential program activity and automatically reads documents, web pages, and email. This software is also helpful for the working adult, at home or in the office.

Using the new Software License Portal, teachers and administrators can manage their licenses and move them between computers. Licenses are registered directly to an email address. Software can be installed on all versions of Windows® 10 and 11.

  • What is the Portal?

The Portal is where your JAWS and ZoomText licenses are managed. If you register a license for your own use, you’ll need to make a Portal account. No one under the age of 18 should make a Portal account, so please ensure that the account is made by a teacher, parent, or IT professional. You can also register multiple licenses to a single account and doing so can make it much easier to manage those licenses.

I received an email from Freedom Scientific and I don’t know if I should I register this license or forward it on to someone else?

If you’re an EOT, EOT assistant, or administrator placing an order for someone else, you’ll likely forward it on to that person. If you’re a teacher, parent, or IT professional that is managing an installation for a student under the age of 18, you’ll want to register the license for yourself and just manage the license through the Portal on their behalf. No one under the age of 18 should have an account in the Portal.

Can I put the email address of the person that will receive the license in the order form instead of forwarding them the email from Freedom Scientific and APH?

No, unfortunately that functionality is not currently available. We will update this answer if that changes.

How do I renew my license?

For now, licenses cannot be renewed. You’ll need to purchase or activate a previously purchased license when your current license expires. We are exploring ways that licenses can be renewed in the future and will update this answer and make an announcement when this process changes.

What are the system requirements for ZoomText?

    • Operating System: Windows® 11, Windows 10, Windows Server® 2019, and Windows Server 2016
    • Processor: 2.0 GHz i7 dual core or higher processor recommended
    • RAM: 16 GB or more recommended
    • Hard drive: 2 GB with more space required for additional voices. SSD drive recommended
    • Video: Video/Graphics card with support for DirectX 11 or later
    • Sound: Windows compatible sound card (for speech)
    • Display: 5-point multi-touch display for touch screen support
    • USB: USB 2.0 for ZoomText Camera support.

    How do I install ZoomText?

To start, you’ll need to register the license in the Portal to your account. Once you’ve done that, inside the Portal you’ll find your license or licenses on the My Products page. They’ll be denoted by product, so if you have multiple licenses, you could have a batch of JAWS and/or ZoomText licenses. Use the link for the kind of product you’d like to activate.

From there, you’ll select the option to “Activate this computer”. Then a custom activation file will be downloaded to your computer. Run the file when the download completes to activate your computer and finish installing ZoomText.
