Product Description
Presented in a trivia game-style format, with an Instruction Booklet for The Why, How and What of IT – helps children develop real images related to descriptive terminology and words. NOW AVAILABLE IN UEB!
The exercises in the What is IT? manual enable students to gain the foundation for comparative thinking, develop an understanding of salient features for everyday objects, and leads to the ability to generalize and communicate independently. Consider: Both tables and chairs have “legs” and a flat surface, so what is the difference between them? What do “flat” and “surface” mean? Does “leg” mean table leg, animal leg, or person’s leg? Active repetition within the context of daily activities is required to meaningfully tie labels to their many possible associated concepts.
Note: exposure of the child to the abstract form of written words allows them to think about it, not necessarily to read it. Having the cards to accompany activities also helps to develop literacy skills.
Recommended ages: 3 years and up.
