Perfect Presents for Individuals Who are Blind or Low Vision

Memory puzzles in a brown bag, laying on a green backdrop.

The holiday season is just around the corner. As you begin to make your list and check it twice, consider some of our gift ideas for children and adults who are blind or have low vision. The perfect present may just be wrapped in this guide.

Gift Ideas for Children

Art and Music

  • Create an accessible coloring experience for your child with the Lots of Dots Coloring Book Series, an exciting set of three raised-line coloring books designed for future large print and braille readers. Purchase Learning My ABCs, Counting 1 2 3, and Coloring the Garden.
  • Is your child learning to sing or play an instrument? Teach them to identify music braille notes and their print counterpart by spinning the Music Braille Wheel.

Toys and Games

  • Add some diversity to your child’s toy collection with Blind Barbie, the first Barbie ever made who uses a long white cane.
  • The Accessible Code & Go Mouse provides a hands-on introduction to coding concepts and tactile graphics as children program Colby the mouse to race through the maze toward the cheese.
  • With the RC Snap Rover Access Kit, children will learn about electronics as they snap together colorful Snap Circuits® parts to build an RC Snap Rover that can zoom across any surface with the included wireless remote control.
  • The BRIC: Structures® Access Kit allows children of all ages to let their imagination go wild as they construct 26 projects that run on electricity.

Gift Ideas for Adults

Home and Office

  • Purchase your single copy or custom-printed copy of the 2025 Large Print-Braille APH InSights Art Calendar, which features artwork from artists who are blind and have low vision.
  • Tactile Clothing Tape allows braille readers to keep colors and other information about their clothing and linens exactly where they need it: attached to the item and ready to be read. The brailled information remains clean and readable after going through automatic washers and dryers, and even holds up under an iron if a layer of fabric is kept between the iron and the label!
  • Make cooking easy with a set of Nesting Braille Measuring Cups, which also feature raised print.

Technology and Accessories

  • Control and type on a phone or tablet with Hable One, a new, small braille Bluetooth keyboard.
  • Charge two of your devices simultaneously with the Accessible Portable Charger & Power Bank from A. T. Guys. The battery level is indicated by tones or vibrations, so you’ll know how much charge is left.
  • A.T. Guys also sells very comfortable open-ear Bluetooth headphones, allowing users to stay aware of the sounds around them while still being able to jam to their favorite tunes.

We wish you a merry and bright holiday season. If ordering from APH, please note that we want to ensure gift delivery by December 25th, so remember to place your orders via UPS shipping no later than December 17th.
