Co-presenters will depict the earliest stages of literacy through the utilization of the Laptime and Lullabies Kit to enhance educators’ ability to collaborate with teams to effectively nurture the beginning stages of literacy for infants, toddlers, and very young children who are blind or have low vision. Then, plan to rejoin the discussion on June 6, 2023, for a second session, consisting of practical application and Q&A.

- Name and briefly describe 12 major components of the earliest stage of literacy as presented in the Laptime and Lullabies Parent Handbook.
- Apply at least 2 new early literacy ideas with your team and clarify how these experiences are linked with family-child interactions and relationships.
- Summarize the parts of the Laptime and Lullabies Kit and explain how to access the kit.
